" Miss Kate", as she was called by many, was the first principal of Laredo High School in 1887. She served as the school's principal until 1926. In that year, she accepted a position on the faculty of Southwestern University at Georgetown. She remained there until 1933, when she accepted the office of the Superintendent of Webb County Schools. During her tenure, the schools of Webb County underwent many needed renovations.
